After our heat finish, we had to race in the consi. It ended up being a checkered flag consi, so we made it into the feature, but had to start in the back of the pack. We were having some motor-overheating problems, so we couldn't push it too hard. Fortuantely, we avoided all of the wrecks, passed several cars and finished that race a solid 14th, picking up the "Hard Charger Award" for that night.

Thank you to the Carroll County 4-H Fair for inviting us to display our car this weekend. This was a great promotional opportunity for the 81 team. We had the pleasure of being on display with Diz Dean, Allen Calt (The Eastern Museum of Motorsports Racing) We also had a great time talking to everyone who stopped by, and hopefully gained a few new fans. We had a couple of very special visitors. Thanks to Patrick Reilly for his interest as a potential sponsor for next year. We look forward to talking more with him very soon. Also, thanks to Jerry Parrish, car owner for the #21, 410 driver Brian Montieth We really appreciated his time, all of his pointers, and the invitation to hang out in the pits with the 21 team. Great weekend at the Carroll County 4-H Fair!

After being off for four weeks with graduations, senior week, weddings and diesel competitions the #81 team put together a top 10 finish on Friday. Steve started 9th in the heat race, looked a little rusty the first couple laps then he picked it up and finished 4th. For the main event the #81 team started 12th of 24. The crew gave Steve a great handling car and had a very nice run finishing 7th out of 24. At the end of the race Steve's smile said it all " It's great to back on the track again ".

Trailways - In the heat race Steve was 3rd out of 9 cars. In the Feature race we started 8th out of 24 cars and moved up to the 5th spot before spinning out on lap 3. We were then hit by another car and the brake line was broken. We had to take a DNF and ended up 22 out of 24.
04.07.06 - Trailways
In our first heat race Steve started out 3rd and finished 2nd out of 8 cars in a 10 lap race. The feature race he started 6th out of 24 cars and was able to quickly move up to 3rd place. On lap 21 of 25 we ran into car problems: the yoke broke loose and one of the bolts came out, which broke the torque ball mount. This wedged behind the brake pedal and sparks were flying! Steve was able to shut her down and went into the infield to check out the damage. Needless to say the night was finished and the #81 car was DNF on lap 21 finishing 18th overall.
